I don’t have a microwave! This means that I’m an amateur when it comes to working the appliance.
What I do know is, COVER YOUR FOOD! Because no one likes to mop up after a spilly microwaver!
There is re-heating your leftovers, the microwaveable fun of cooking eggs, frozen dinners and even nuking something for the first time.
What is your microwave mostly used for; defrosting, reheating or popping popcorn.
I will admit, I had the misfortune of burning popcorn in our microwave – that was a number of years back… oh it was bad! And that is why I find having a microwave a bit of a space waster!
Today, I’m enjoying a frozen dinner entrée – Chicken & Cheese Quesadilla. There are two portions, easy to split them up through the morning. Also enjoying some grapes, water and a delightful chocolate/brownie dessert that was delivered to the station.
With fall season upon us, I considered that changing my eating habits would be a good thing. I have a renewed YMCA membership (we were on a three month break! ). I’m ready to commit again and make this thing work. I do after all have a master plan.
Earlier today, we talked about a study that was done regarding afternoon SLUMPS. I know for a fact that they happen and as I type this my eyes are drifting (warning even after proof reading there could be mistakes).
The study had wise advice, get real sleep, eat right, take vitamins, run up a flight of stairs and walk around the office. When I get home, its game over. Usually around 2pm I’m out like a light, unless I get into the rhythm of doing something.
Is it so wrong to fight off fatigue!? I guess some of us are just getting older. But, I’m not going anywhere and there’s no time like the present to try and change a few things.
My mom has recently turned 98. She’s still being taken out for lunch or supper since the celebration started last Thursday. Yesterday when I visited, she looked visibly tired. It’s hard to turn down escaping from a Senior Care Facility. She’s done a great job of keeping the staff on their toes. And enjoying those 2 to 2:30pm afternoon naps.
Drink water, get sleep, eat right and try not to stress, take breaks, laugh lots and don’t let the small stuff get you. Remember don’t burn your popcorn in the microwave and clean up after you bake a Pizza Pop!
