Yesterday morning I made my usual stop at the grocery store and couldn’t help but notice the pumpkin pies that were being piled up in a display getting ready for the weekend rush. I couldn’t help but notice them. They were huge. They were nothing like the usual pies I see around Thanksgiving and Christmas. These things were the size of a steering wheel on a bus. I didn’t head into the store with a pie on my list, but I grabbed one anyway. The only trouble I had was fitting the darn thing into my shopping basket. It was kind of like toting a piece of lumber around in a shopping cart. Thank you to the three employees who helped me carry it out to my vehicle.
Have you ever had one of those days when you drive and you suddenly ask yourself if you drove through any red lights? I had one of those mornings on my way into work today. My first red light was on Victoria and Albert. That was quite a drive before hitting a red light. When I was waiting at the light I considered myself pretty lucky not hitting any other red lights on my way in. Then I wondered whether that was the case or was I just not paying attention at the other intersections. Uh oh. Looks like it might be one of those days where my body is present, but my mind is a million miles away!
Have yourself a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. If you’re running short on pumpkin pie, let me know.
