Brandon Bridge was the story Saturday afternoon in Toronto as the Saskatchewan Roughriders completed a two game Eastern road trip with another tight victory as they knocked off the Argonauts 27-24.
Kevin Glenn struggled to get his offence rolling early in the contest so head coach Chris Jones decided to put the Canadian behind centre which was the right move as he threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns including a 75 yarder to Caleb Holley.
After Toronto tied the game at 24-24 with 3:41 to play, Bridge took the ball at the Rider 37 and proceeded to drive them to the Toronto 10 leading to an 18 yard field goal by Tyler Crapigna with seven seconds to play. The field goal was Crapigna’s 4th of the game.
The win improves the Riders to a record of 8-6. They are home to the Ottawa REDBLACKS on Friday night in an 8 o’clock start.
