Farm Credit Canada’s Drive Away Hunger campaign will be held Thursday across Regina and the goal is to raise thousands of meals for the local food bank.
FCC community investment manager Carla Warnyca says four small tractors and a truck will visit dozens of businesses and schools, picking up food and cash for the Regina food bank.
She says the goal is to raise 375 thousand meals in Regina, and millions across the country at various FCC offices.
“The national goal is 5-million meals this year,” Warnyca said. “And we’re hoping to top it. And we’re sure we will. With the partnerships we have and how generous the agriculture community is, we have no doubt we’re going to blow that goal right out of the water.”
In Saskatchewan, 27-thousand people use food banks every month.
