Emil Oksanen was the hero for the Regina Pats Sunday afternoon as they defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 in overtime at the Brandt Centre.
The 19 year old Finn took a cross-ice pass from Sam Steel and wired it past Oil Kings goalie Boston Bilous at the 1:00 mark of overtime to give Regina their first back-to-back wins this season as they improved their record to 5-4-1.
Sam Steel and Matt Bradley had the other Regina goals. Bradley and Oksanen are tied for the team lead with 9 goals apiece.
Regina will continue a 4 game homestand on Wednesday night when the Brandon Wheat Kings are in town in a 7 o’clock start.
