Saskatchewan days are getting short, I hope the warm weather lasts.
We all have selfish reasons for this hold out! There’s still football to be played, yards to clean or door to door canvassing to be done! Hey, Halloween is days away… NO SNOW – please!
In that list of things, there’s November 11th, who wants to stand outside for Remembrance Day services?
Fresh snow, cold winds and all the harshness of November bring home the memories or the images of what it must have been like for our veterans of World War I and II, but now fewer of us know that reality.
This year in Regina, there will be changes to Remembrance Day activities. Nothing to worry about, these are slight shifts that allow people to observe through the week.
The Royal Canadian Legion Regina Branch 001 invites you to a Steak Night on November 8th at the Press Box. The tickets are $20. And available at the Legion office 1820 Cornwall Street.
The Legion also invites you to the Military Museum to explore the history of Saskatchewan in military conflict.
If you are not a member of the Legion, but you have an interest in the organization, please stop in. There are many people that can answer your questions about membership or any other question you have.
The Royal Canadian Legion has lots to offer, think beyond veterans and their families. Stop by your local Legion and ask them about the facilities. Engage in cribbage, darts, bowling, curling, track and field activities and clubs. Ask about the Poppy Campaign and how your school or workplace, social group can get involved.
