I hope you had a terrific weekend. I had another busy weekend, but I managed to squeeze in a little bit of Netflix time. Most log on to the network to watch the latest shows and movies. Not me. I like watching the classics, specifically TV shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation. I’ve watched this show numerous times and yesterday it got me thinking thanks to the episode I watched. It was about time travelling.
If you could travel back or ahead in time to any period, where would you go? I always thought the 1960’s and 70’s would be a fascinating time to be alive. It was a very interesting, tumultuous time with incredible music and television programming being created. However, I started thinking longer and harder about that question. Where would I go now? I’d like to head back to 1903. That was the year my great-Grandfather settled our homestead in the Windthorst district, a community that didn’t officially exist until 1906!
Pioneers were incredibly brave to settle and farm in a region they didn’t know anything about. How did they find the correct land to begin with? How did they get supplies? Wood? Water? How did they prepare for a winter without knowing it’s harshness? These are things I’d love to see. The human spirit in action and their drive to succeed in trying times. I think it would be an exciting and inspiring time to revisit. Having said that, I only want to go back to 1903 during the months of June, July and August!
If you had a time machine where would you go?
