A wildfire relief fund has been launched by the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association after recent wildfires in southwest Saskatchewan.
The damage caused by the fires will only add to a feed shortage caused by drought.
Stock Growers president Shane Jahnke says donations of cash, hay, feed or trucking are all welcome.
He says the wildfires destroyed animals, buildings, feed and fencing and many ranchers will need help.
“It’s crippling for the producers involved in this devastation,” Jahnke said.
Last week tens of thousands of acres of fields and grass were burnt in the Burstall, Leader and Tompkins areas, killing an estimated 750 cattle.
