Another major sporting event is ready to call Regina home.
The top Canadian and international figure skaters are headed to Regina for the 2017 Skate Canada International.
This is the second of six events on the 2017 International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating circuit, in which skaters compete to qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, taking place December 7-10, 2017, in Nagoya, Japan.
The Canadian contingent at the event is lead by Olympic silver medallist and three-time world champ Patrick Chan on the mens side with World silver medallist Kaitlyn Osmond (pictured) competing on the womens side. They are joined by Olympic champion and three-time World Champion Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir in ice dance, and two-time world champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford in pairs. They are the defending champions at this event for the third year in a row.
The event begins Thursday and runs until Sunday.
