Day two of Harvard Broadcasting Children’s Hospital Radiothon is underway at Hill Tower Two.
And a guest to the radiothon says this facility – which is at the 70-percent completion mark – is a hospital which will serve children throughout the province.
Dr. Laurence Givelichian is the head pediatrician of this facility. He has been instrumental in the planning of the Children’s Hospital and says the excitement is building.
“These physicians and the programs are going to deliver the best care throughout the province,” Givelichian said. “This is not a Saskatoon-based hospital. It’s a Saskatchewan-based hospital. The structure is in Saskatoon, but the programs will be available throughout the province.”

Givelichian says no stone is left unturned.
“Also, in this hospital, being so friendly towards families, we have a huge theatre,” Givelichian said. “It’s a cinema-type of theatre. The kids who are able to go and watch different shows, will be able to do so, after the medical care is provided to them.”
Givelichian says the focus of the Children’s Hospital will be on the kids and their families.
“Every single room is a single-patient occupancy,” Givelichian said. “The parents, or the family, will have an opportunity to spend time in the room with their child. THey will have the ability to sleep and have a bathroom of their own.”
The radiothon wraps up Thursday afternoon at 5:00.
