Almost every night after supper I go for a walk. Usually it’s one of two reasons as to why I go for a walk. First, my cooking is so bad I have to walk it off or second, I have some energy that I need to burn off. Last night as I walked around my neighbourhood with a very brisk prairie wind blowing, I couldn’t help but notice the amount of Christmas lights and decorations that are up already!
Everything from lights to inflatable snowmen and wooden reindeer were up. At first I thought it was actually kind of nice but then I remembered we’re still about a month and 10 days away from the big day and I think it’s still too early for Christmas decorations. Isn’t it?
I guess this is like the old debate of how early is too early for Christmas music. How early is too early for Christmas lights and decorations? In my opinion, November is a bit too early for the lights and all that Christmas stuff. I know we all get excited for the holiday season but in my opinion November just isn’t that “festive” season. Once December 1st rolls around I’d say it’s fair game to go Christmas crazy with lights, decorations, and trees! You’d think 30 or 31 days would be long enough to celebrate the festive season. Although it is a little sad when all the decorations come down.
Where do you stand on this issue. How early is too early for Christmas decorations?
