Sixty-five-thousand dollars cash and more than 1,000 bales of hay are among the donations to a wildfire relief fund organized by the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association.
President Shane Jahnke said ranchers with dead cattle and damaged pasture can use some help.
“To date we’ve had 19 applications for assistance as well as three other applications that friends and neighbors have put in for other producers,” Jahnke said.
The wildfire fund was established in response to an October 17th wildfire in the Burstall-Leader area that was fueled by strong wind and very dry conditions.
The Stock Growers will collect additional donations at its booth next week at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.
