It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Regina with the recent snowfall.
Sunday the holiday season will officially kick off with the annual Southland Mall Santa Claus Parade.
Tanya Brewster, Marketing Manager says the parade will start at 1:00 Sunday afternoon.
“We start at 25th and Albert Street just on the corner there, travel all the way down south to the Southland mall at the entrance of Chapters, so kind of at the back of the mall,” Brewster says. “All floats pull in there, so if you line up anywhere down Albert street you’ll have a pretty good view.”
Brewster says some new businesses have entered the parade this year.
“We do have a number of new businesses that are in this year, so we’re hoping they bring some different elements to it,” Brewster says. ” We’re not privy to how they’re decorating until they get there, but the float this year is ‘favourite Christmas story,’ so I think they have a lot to work with and it should be very interesting.”
The weather is looking good for the day, with sunshine expected and a high of around -3°C.
