All of the action kicks off today at Evraz Place! It’s Agribition time.
It’ll a busy time down at Canadian Western Agribition this week, where Colin, Cody, and myself will be broadcasting live. I’ll be at Warner Industries today through Friday from 10-2. If you’re coming out, drop in and say hi.
One of my favorite things to see at Agribition every year are the kids. Over 8000 school students passed through the show last year and they have a ball. Hey, it’s fun just to get out of school for a day, but to go somewhere that you get to walk all over the place and see new things must be exciting. I know I would have loved it when I was a kid.
I still remember one of my favorite field trips. We actually hopped on a bus and headed all the way to Calgary to visit the Planetarium. I still remember stopping at a small town hamburger joint on the way home. It was one of those places that you order your food, but have to eat outside at a picnic table. It was great. I can still see that blue and white structure.
It’s the chaperones I feel sorry for. While the kids are running around Agribition, you can see the teachers and parents trying to keep all their minions together, trying to make sure no one breaks loose from the pack. I can only imagine their anxiety afterwards when the bus comes to pick everyone up, hoping the number of kids getting back on the bus matches the number of kids that came off.
Let the fun begin!
