The Regina Pats Homecoming weekend may be over two months away, but the planning committee did receive some input from some former NHL pros.
Stu Grimson, Ed Staniowski and Geoff Courtnall were in Regina Saturday, and will be back in the Queen City in February to play in the All-Star Celebrity Classic.
Grimson said playing in the outdoor game will bring back fond memories of his childhood.
“I played outside a bunch when I was a young boy, but I never had the opportunity to play in an outdoor game, so I’m really looking forward to that. I guess I followed the game enough to now that when pro’s are involved in that they always come away with it being one of the notable memories in their careerm so I’m looking forward to having that memory for myself.
Grimson played for seven different NHL teams from 1988 until 2002, with his Junior career beginning with the Regina Pats in 1982
