The Regina Pats got back into the win column Saturday night as they doubled up the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-2.
Robbie Holmes was the hero for the home side as he shovelled a rebound off a Josh Mahura shot past Jordan Hollett with just 4:13 to play for the game-winner. Jake Leschyshyn added an empty netter in the last minute to give Regina the win and a record of 16-14-2-0.
Cale Fleury had three assists on the night to lead the Pats scoring parade with Leschyshyn and Emil Oksanen each registering two points on the evening.
Despite the loss, Hollett was spectacular in the Medicine Hat goal. The player Regina gave up to get Matt Bradley in the off-season made 44 saves on the night.
The game was the last for what Sam Steel and Mahura hope is a while as they leave Monday for the Canadian World Junior Team Selection camp in St. Catherines, Ontario.
The next game for Regina will be Wednesday when the Kamloops Blazers pay a visit to the Brandt Centre in a 7 o’clock start.
