Those parking in the downtown core this month may get a hand from some good people.
The Regina Downtown Business Improvement District is plugging metres for people parked in expired spots, to buy them approximately 15 minutes.
Lindsay Desrochiers, Cultural Program Intern for the Downtown BID, says people working for the organization can cover north of 8500 parking metres.
“It’s a lot of metres, and yes, we’re handing out quite a few every day,” says Desrochiers.
“There’s alot of reasons for that, you might not have change at the time, things go longer than you thought they were going to be. We just plug for an extra 15 minutes and that gives you a little extra to either re-plug or go to another spot.”
This is the 11th year the organization has taken part in the Downtown Parking Program.
