Around 700 inner-city kids were able to attend a luncheon at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Regina on Wednesday.
The luncheon is the 23rd annual event, and allows the children involved to converse with other children from other schools ahead of the Christmas season.
Randy Ryba is the Fire Marshall for Regina Fire Department and says it’s a good event to be a part of.
“This is an annual event hosted by the good folks of The Doubletree,” Ryba said. “We are very pleased to be part of this as far as the serving of food and the like to our inner city children. It’s been very rewarding and continues to be.”
Volunteers from the fire department, as well as Regina Police, STARS Air Ambulance, Sask Polytech Aboriginal Police Program Students, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders were all there to help put on the luncheon for the kids.
