A man who was aboard a West Wind Aviation turboprop that crashed just after takeoff from Fond du Lac, Saskatchewan Wednesday evening says the plane was moving up and down and side to side in the few minutes it was airborne.
Willie John Laurent, his wife, Helen, and their daughter were among the 22 passengers and three crew aboard the plane last evening.
Members of the 900-person community got on Skidoos and raced into the bush to reach the plane.
West Wind Aviation says investigators will look at weather at the time, pilot error and mechanical error as possible factors that caused the crash.
RCMP continue to hold the scene until Transportation Safety Board Investigators arrive.
