Commuters on their way to work this morning may have encountered some difficulty travelling along Regina’s main arteries.
Water poured out onto Albert and 23rd, and on Park at Ross Avenue.
City Director of Waterworks Pat Wilson says breaks around this time of years are quite common.
“We have had, so far this month, about five main breaks and about 22 connections that needed either repair or replacement,” she says.
Wilson says it’s difficult to differentiate a water main break from a connection break without investigation.
“The main is that larger pipe that runs down the middle of the street that is bringing water to a number of homes, and a service connection is a smaller pipes that comes off the main that brings water to a specific home or business.”
