With more garbage expected to be made over the holiday season, the city of Regina is moving bi-weekly pick up to weekly until the new year.
The city’s Dave Hughes said it’s a common practice for municipalities to move pick-up back to a weekly schedule over Christmas, and something the planned to do all along when the bi-weekly schedule was introduced.
“This was always the plan, other cities do this as well. Everyone knows that garbage increases over the holiday season so we appreciate that,” said Hughes.
For example, residents in the Glencairn-Parkridge area will have their garbage picked up December 29th and January 5th, before going back to bi-weekly pick ups until March.
Recycling will stay on it’s regular bi-weekly schedule .
