It truly is the most wonderful time of year, now that many of Regina’s outdoor rinks are open for the winter.
Warm temperatures throughout December delayed the rinks opening up for a few weeks, but the city recently announced they’re now good to go.
Ray Morgan, Director of Parks and Open Spaces, says some non-boarded rinks are still being flooded but are still safe to skate on.
“What it meant was in progress was we’re still flooding, ” says Morgan. “Now, most of our border rinks are ready to go and open to the public to use.”
Outdoor rinks with lights will be in operation between 8 AM and 10 PM this winter.
