Monday morning my wife and I were up early and getting ready to head out for our Christmas breakfast. After checking the temperature I decided I’d give my vehicle a little more time than usual to warm up, so with a click of a button I got the thing started, or at least I thought I had. About 10 minutes after hitting my command start I peeked out of the front window and noticed my vehicle wasn’t running. I thought that was a bit odd. I’ve never plugged my vehicle in and I’ve never had any problem with it starting. So, I grabbed my remote and gave it another hit, this time while watching from our front window. Nothing. My lights would flash on and off as they always do, but it wasn’t starting.
So, I grabbed my jacket and went out to manually start the darn thing. No luck. That baby wasn’t turning over, period. Great! Well, at least we have my wife’s vehicle. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened to hers. So here we were, expected for breakfast, but no way to get there!
That’s when I placed a call to my next door neighbour. “Hey Mike, I hate to bug you, but could you please come and give me a boost? My vehicle won’t start.” No problem. He told me to give him 5 minutes. I was watching out the living room window and noticed his truck wasn’t starting either. What a morning! Fortunately, his wife parks her car in their heated garage, so we knew at least one vehicle would start. Within minutes he was pulled up in front of my house and I finally got to use those booster cables I bought at Agribition last year.
By the end of the day I had extension cords rigged up and both vehicles were plugged in. The next morning both vehicles started up without a problem.
Thank goodness for electricity in minus 40 weather!
