A new year will mean a new look to City Hall’s main floor after a serious make-over took place this past year.
The city’s Jill Hargrove says despite being a couple weeks behind schedule they’re on budget and hope to be finished in January.
“A lot of the work, they won’t see,” Hargrove said. “All the mechanical and electrical, the ventilation systems – the infrastructure that’s behind the scenes. Certainly for any of the customers coming in, they’re just going to see a refreshed main floor. We’re making improvements to our Service Regina area. So where the cashiers are, we’re actually adding a couple of additional counters.”
Hargrove says things have run smoothly throughout the entire process.
“Yeah, we’re a couple of weeks behind on our schedule,” Hargrove said. “But, overall the process has been great. And, yes, we’re in on-budget!”
Regina’s current City Hall was constructed 41 years ago.
