The province’s Lieutenant Governor is looking back at her accomplishments as she nears the end of her term.
Her honour Vaughn Solomon Schofield says there’s been several highlights since she first took the role of Lieutenant Governor, one of which includes meeting her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
But perhaps the thing Schofield is most proud of is the opportunity she’s had to meet the people of the province she’s says proud to serve.
“I grew up here,” she says. “I’ve lived in many places in the world, and I’ve never or visited a place with a kinder, more welcoming group of people than we have here. I’m very proud to be from Saskatchewan.”
Schofield is also well known for her support and advocacy of the servicemen and women in the Canadian military.
“It was always in mind that they were never thanked enough.”
Schofield’s term will come to an end in December.
Her appointment came into effect March 22, 2012 and was to have been for five years, however the federal government extended her term.
