Three businesses have been destroyed after a fire burned through the 100 block of Churchill Street in Hudson Bay Monday night.
Hudson Bay RCMP responded to the structure fire at three businesses and an attached residence.
The lone occupant of the residence was not inside at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported to RCMP.
Corrine Reine with the local Chamber of Commerce says it’s pretty devastating for the community.
“In that building that went down, there were three viable businesses,”Reine said. “It’s definitely going to have an impact on our business sector.”
Reine says the business added a lot to the community, referring to them as entrepreneurs.
“We had a tattoo shop who was the owner of the building,” Reine said. “And a hairdresser and a vintage furniture shop which was run by a young lade.”
RCMP says the investigation of the scene will be completed once the fire is fully extinguished.
Fire officials from the Ministry of Government Relations along with members of the RCMP are expected to report on their investigation once its complete.
