The Regina Pats have made their second deal with Saskatoon this week acquiring 20-year-old Edmonton Oilers prospect Cameron Hebig and 19-year-old goalie Ryan Kubic.
Going the other way is is Goalie Tyler Brown, forward Bryan Lockner a first and second round pick in 2020, and third rounders in 2019 and 2021.
Hebig singed as a free agent with Edmonton earlier this season, he’s picked up 30 goals and 28 assists in 48 games this year.
The Saskatoon product has 193 points in 238 career games.
Kubic has put up an 8-11-1-0 record this season in Saskatoon with a 3.96 GAA and a .871 save percentage. The product of St. Andrews, MB was acquired by the Blades from the Vancouver Giants ahead of this year. In 129 WHL appearances, Kubic has put up a 3.39 GAA and a 0.892 save percentage go to along with five shutouts.
The Blades then turned around and shipped Lockner to the Medicine Hat Tigers for 19 year old forward Max Gerlach and three draft picks.
Brown was Regina’s goalie for the last three years and was a big reason why the team got to within two games of the WHL title last season.
He has played in 152 games in Regina, compiling a record of 76-47-10-6 with a 3.02 GAA and a .904 save percentage.
