The Regina Pats recorded their 23rd win of the season Saturday night at the Brandt Centre as they cruised to an 8-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen.
Josh Mahura led the Pats with five points on a goal and four assists. The night allowed Mahura to reach the 100 point career mark in the WHL one night after teammate Nick Henry accomplished the same feat.
Cale Fleury, Sam Steel, Jesse Gabrielle and Jared Legien all had three point nights as the Pats improved their record to 7-2-1 since the Christmas break.
Ryan Kubic got the start again in goal and was strong making 33 saves. He is 2-0-1 since joining the team in a trade with Saskatoon last week.
The Pats, now 23-19-4 on the season, will be in Prince Albert Wednesday night to meet the Raiders in a 7 o’clock start in a game we will have on 620 CKRM.
Before the game there was a moment of silence for the father of Regina forward Koby Morriseau who suddenly passed away on Friday. Morriseau was not in the lineup as he has returned home to be with family.
