The deadline has passed, and it would appear as if Saskatchewan’s opposition leader will either be Trent Wotherspoon or Ryan Meili.
The Saskatchewan NDP had a deadline of 5 o’clock on Friday and those two were the only declared candidates.
The NDP is holding a leadership convention in March.
They have been without an official leader since Cam Broten stepped down after an election-night defeat.
Wotherspoon had been serving as interim leader, but he stepped down from that position with Nicole Sarauer taking over after deciding to concentrate on becoming the full-time leader.
While the NDP elects a new leader in March, the Saskatchewan Party elects its new leader and premier until the next provincial election later this month.
