The Regina Pats along with CHL and Memorial Cup representatives were on hand at the Brandt Centre Wednesday morning for the official Memorial Cup Ticket Launch.
Pats season ticket holders will have the best chance of catching a game, they’ll be able to access a pre-sale from Thursday until the 26th.
Tickets will be released to the general public on January 30th.
Packages include Centennial Level seating for $695 for season ticket holders and $750 for everyone else.
The festival package will set season seat holders back $645 and $700 for those who are not season ticket holders
The chair of the Memorial Cup host committee is Shaun Semple. He is very excited at what will happen from May 17-27 and says there is no doubt Evraz Place will be the place to be in Regina on those days.
He adds it will be another chance to show the rest of Canada what our city is all about.
“Regina deserves these big events,” Semple said. “When I go travel abroad to different cities and people say ‘Why would you live in Regina? Why would you have this?’ and ‘Why is Regina so small?’ These big events help set the brand to our city, it helps tell us about the people who live here.”
Besides the games at the Brandt Centre, there will be a lot of activity happening at what will be known as “The Centennial Celebration Zone”. It will be located in the EventPlex at Evraz Place and will be very similar to Riderville which was held in the same spot during Grey Cup 2013 festivities.
Bands like Emerson Drive, Emerald City Band and Loverboy will perform during the week.
Tickets will be released to the general public on January 30. Non-season ticket holders interested in reserving ticket packages can do by going to the Memorial Cup website starting Friday with a four-installment payment plan available to all who buy.
Semple, who is also the President and CEO of the Brandt Group of Companies, is letting season-ticket holders know that due to Canadian Hockey League ticket allotments they may not get the same seat they have had for the regular season.
He says those affected will be given a seat which is hopefully comparable to where their seats have been this year .
