Alberta Premier Rachel Notley is offering some free advice for whatever one of the five Saskatchewan Party leadership candidates becomes Premier in less than two weeks.
Speaking Thursday in Calgary, Notley said “The advice that I would give to the new premier is to look at the facts, look at the data, look at the reporting on economic activity and reconsider the approach they’ve taken up till now. One province is making its way out of the recession, and one is not. One province is adding tens of thousands of new jobs; one province is losing jobs. I suggest they should look at the data and start drawing some different conclusions.”
As one would expect, it didn’t take long for Wall to respond as he went to social media
Alberta and Saskatchewan are squabbling over many things right now including licence plates on construction sites which is something the two sides are expected to sit down and discuss at a meeting later this month at a place to be determined. Saskatchewan wants the meeting to be held in Medicine Hat, but the Alberta government wants the border city of Lloydminster to be the venue so Saskatchewan officials can hear first-hand from those affected.
Former finance minister Kevin Doherty also weighed in on the Facebook post by saying Notley giving the next Saskatchewan Premier advice on how to handle an economy is like Barney Rubble giving advice on acting to Sir Laurence Olivier.
