Last week I had to take my cellphone back to the place I bought it from because I had a little bit of a problem with it. No matter what I tried, it just wouldn’t charge. I tried everything. One day I asked Gloria for her charger here at the station just to see if that would work, and to my surprise, it did. At that point I figured I must have had a faulty cord. What else could it be? My cord didn’t work, but Gloria’s did. It seemed pretty cut and dry.
So, I made my way to the cellphone store and laid out $17 for a new cord. When I got home and went to plug it in, I got nothing. What in the world is going on here? A few days later I tried Gloria’s charger again, and again, it worked fine. I was stumped.
So, it was back to the store last week to get this thing resolved. When I explained the problem, the lady who was helping me plugged my phone into another charger. Nothing. Then she tried another. Again, nothing. I had no idea why Gloria’s charger was the only one that would work on my phone. I was ready to offer her $500 for that darn thing.
There was only one thing to do. They gave me a loaner phone, which was identical to mine, and they sent mine off to Ontario to get repaired. That was last Thursday. I was told it would be anywhere from 2-3 weeks before mine came back.
Yesterday I got the call that my phone was repaired and ready for pick up. Only a week to repair it. I was rather impressed, considering that two days of that week were probably taken up just getting the phone to and from Ontario.
So, I went down yesterday and swapped phones. Everything is back to the way it should be, which was great news for me.
The last thing I would have wanted to tell my wife is that I paid Gloria $500 for a $30 charger!
