Reid, the former President & CEO of Northlands in Edmonton, says one of the first things to do on his agenda is unlocking Regina’s potential as booming and economic and entertainment hub.
“I think we have to look at this site as an opportunity to spur economic development and growth, spur tourism,” he notes. “But most importantly, make people aware of what Regina has to offer. That’s what’s so exciting to me as the incoming leader is the fact we have an ability to introduce this site to a national and international stage.”
Reid says he’s looking forward to doing exactly that. With events like the Brier and Memorial Cup coming up this spring, it’ll be a great test to see if they can.
“Ultimately, we have exceptional venues. I think the path forward is how we create a district and entertainment experience that is second to none in the country.”
Reid notes there’s been significant investment and opportunity into the facilities at Evraz Place. Now, it’s time to turn it into something great.
