Ravens looking to make Mosaic Stadium their new home should prepare for a scare.
Evraz Place will be launching a week long scare program, designed to deter the birds from establishing themselves there.
Corporate Communications Director, Shalyn Kivela said this isn’t uncommon to do, as ravens usually seek out tall structures on purpose.
“It’s very typical for ravens in the winter months to seek tall building in cities, because they’re attracted to the warmth that comes out of the building.”
In order to deter them from getting attracted at all, Kivela said Evraz Place will be sounding off at them.
“Scare pistols will be given off, loud sounds, basically, to scare the ravens away to prevent them coming back,” said Kivela. “Throughout the course of the two weeks, in about a three hour time period, there’s going to be two second shots every 15 minutes of these loud sounds.”
For the first hour, four two second shots will be fired every quarter hour, followed by an hour break. After the break, four more two second shots will be fired every 15 minutes up to 45 minutes.
