It is a first for Saskatchewan and maybe Canada
The city of Moose Jaw is introducing a 15-20 minute bi-weekly podcast called “The Friendly City Insider” featuring interviews with city leaders and administration to talk about things happening that will impact residents.
Moose Jaw communications manager Craig Hemingway says he got the idea after hearing a similar podcast done in San Antonio, Texas. Once hearing it, he thought it would be a great way to get information out in a way that is becoming more traditional especially with the younger demographic.
“This is one way of giving more information than what traditional media can give you when it comes to depth of detail.” Hemingway says. “This is one way to do it and if we can engage the younger demographic and keep them interested or get them interested in what is happening in their city than that’s great.”
The podcast can be found on the city’s website.
