After a couple of delays, the first-degree murder trial for three men charged with first-degree murder in the death of a man in April of 2015 started Monday at Court of Queen’s Bench in Regina.
Andrew Bellegarde, Bronson Gordon and Daniel Theodore are accused of murdering and dismembering Reno Lee in April 2015.
Besides first-degree murder, all three are also charged with indecently interfering or offering an indignity to human remains by dismembering and decapitating Lee whose body was found in a bluff near Balcarres after he had been apparently murdered in a Regina home.
The trial was to have started last week, but two jurors had to be excused. Just before the trial started on Monday, another juror was excused meaning only 13 people will be on the jury.
The case is expected to last six weeks
