A young offender charged with the beating death of a La Ronge restaurant owner this past April has pleaded guilty to armed robbery and manslaughter.
The boy, who was 17 at the time, made the plea in a La Ronge courtroom on Monday
64-year-old Simon Grant was killed during a robbery at his restaurant. Two other teens had been charged with second degree murder, but all have now pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.
19 year old Austin Bird was sentenced to seven years in jail while a 14 year old has yet to be sentenced.
The Crown is looking for an adult sentence for the 17 year old. The case has been adjourned until March.
