The Washboard Union will be joining Cold Creek County on Old Dominion’s Happy Endings Tour starting February 1st in the Queen City. It’ll take them to several cities across western Canada from February 1 to 11.
“Our manager, Ron Sakamoto, came to us and said this is an opportunity for us, we jumped at it,” described Aaron Grain of the Washboard Union.
He admits all three groups have been in constant contact since coming to together to do this tour. Things like logistics, contacts, travel plans, and show coordination have all been discussed by everyone involved.
“We’ve got a big show to put on, so how are we going to do that? So there’s a lot of moving parts to tours like this,” stated Grain.
The Washboard Union likes to be very hands-on when it comes to tour planning so that they know what’s going on every step of the way.
“Making sure we’re providing the best show we can, the best songs we can, the best recording, so, it kind of goes through everything we do as The Washboard Union, whether it’s recording, videos, or tours, it’s essential for us to be part of that from the get-go,” elaborated Grain.
620 CKRM is very excited to be hosting a listener lunch at Tony Roma’s party room in Regina with Aaron, David, and Chris from The Washboard Union on February 1 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.. A ribling lunch will be served that day. Registration details can be found at 620ckrm.com.
Do the guys like ribs?
“We’re in Nashville right now and we’ve got some great ribs down here (so) we’ve become quite the rib connoisseurs the last little while so if there’s any sort of a rib contest you’ve got some great taste buds on the way and we’ve actually go into the baby back ribs,” chuckled Grain.
