After six days of testimony in which the defence did not put forth a case, closing arguments started in a New Orleans courtroom today in the trial of Ronald Gasser.
He is facing a charge of second degree murder in the shooting death of former Saskatchewan Roughrider Joe McKnight.
In December of 2016, Gasser pulled a weapon from his car and shot McKnight who was standing outside of the vehicle after a road rage incident at an intersection near New Orleans.
Court heard how the two men chased one another in their vehicles with each giving one another the finger while yelling obscenities before both vehicles stopped and McKnight was shot.
The defence did not present a case, but jurors saw videos of Gasser making statements shortly after the shooting.
It is not known when a verdict will be announced.
