A partnership between two Canadian financial institutions has one executive excited about the financial future in Saskatchewan.
The First Nations Bank of Camada has joined forces with Affinity Credit Union to better serve the financial service needs of Saskatchewan’s First Nations and Métis peoples.
Affinity’s Executive Vice President of Advisory Services Tim Schroh says their similar goals and visions will make for a great partnership.
“The deep commitment to communities, also the deep respect for attention for members and customers, so customers on First Nations Bank side and members on our side,” he said.”So we really align from a values perspective.”
Schroh also notes while the partnership will not result in the opening of any more banks, it will benefit all parties.
“First Nations bank has their strength with those entities,” said Schroe. “The other benefit is many of those economic arms of the Indigenous business community also employ individuals, so access to our branch from a complimentary perspective and our retail network is beneficial for both.”
