SGI is warning Saskatchewan football fans to stay off the roads after having any alcoholic beverages.
While many people will be attending Super Bowl parties or visiting their favorite bar to watch the game, SGI said while it’s okay to have a few drinks, there should always be a plan for a safe ride home.
Spokesman Tyler McMurchy said meeting with friends to plan ahead is always a good idea.
“We know that lots of people will be heading to bars or house parties to watch the Super Bowl,” McMurchy said.
“Whether you’re watching the Super Bowl at a house party or bar, if there’s alcohol involved we want to remind people to not be offside with impaired driving laws, before-hand huddle up with your friends and plan a safe ride home,” McMurchy added.
Saskatchewan still leads the country in impaired driving incidents, which is something SGI hopes does not occur after Sunday night’s big game.
