Pulse Canada will receive 575-thousand-dollars in federal funding to develop new markets in China, East Asia and North America.
Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay spoke with 620 CKRM at a Saskatchewan Pulse Growers regional meeting Monday in Regina.
“There’s many ways you can use pulses and this will help in that area, that is basically what we’re trying to do, expand the markets. That is really what the money is all about,” MacAulay said.
Finding new markets for peas and lentils is important following India’s decision late last year to impose stiff import tariffs.
