It took them six games to do so, but the Regina Pats finally found a way to beat the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Josh Mahura (pictured) had two goals and an assist in the third period as Regina beat the WHL’s top team by a score of 5-3 at Mosaic Place Friday night in the second of three straight games between the two teams.
The score was tied at 2 after two, but Emil Oksanen scored his 14th of the year on the power-play at 3:59 followed by Mahura’s markers at 6:12 and 7:34 to give the Pats control.
With the victory, Regina is now 30-24-5-1 on the season which moves them into 3rd place in the Eastern Division one ahead of Brandon who has three games in hand.
The Pats and Warriors will go at it Sunday afternoon in a 2 o’clock start at the Brandt Centre in a game where former Pat Jock Callander will be recognized as his number 15 will be retired by the hockey club as they celebrate their 100th Anniversary and finish off the Homecoming Celebration Weekend.
