One of the province’s biggest music festivals is enforcing transparency rules.
Country Thunder has cracked down on the kind of bags permitted into the festival, stating only small, transparent bags will be allowed, following a thorough examination.
Director of Marketing and Media Relations for the festival Gerry Krochak says the clarified policy will allow them to catch any sort of potential illegal activity.
“Everybody always thinks that they’re always the first person to think of sneaking a flask or a mickey of liquor into the festival,” he said with a laugh. “With the clear bags, it’s just going to expedite the process.”
Krochak says this policy also helps keep patron safety their highest priority.
“Behind the scenes, we’re always looking at ways to improve what we’re doing on site and to make sure the on-site experience is a pleasant one. I’m not being corny about this, there’s nothing more important than fan safety.”
