Yesterday morning while I was at work I got an email from my wife who let me know that she took a cab to work because her vehicle wouldn’t start. That’s great. I had a dentist appointment after work and had some running around to do after that and now I’ve got to take care of her vehicle to make sure it’s up and running the next morning so she doesn’t have to cab it to work again.
I thought it was kind of odd that her vehicle wouldn’t fire up. She drove home from work the day before with no problem and it was plugged in overnight. I’m no mechanic, but the first thought that ran through my mind was that her battery was pooched.
After my running around I got home and pulled up right in front of her vehicle and grabbed my booster cables. I bought those when I was working at Agribition about a year and a half ago. I’ve only needed them twice, but I’m glad I had them. Once I had her vehicle going I let it warm up a bit before heading over to see my friends at Regina Muffler and Brake.
It was busy when I arrived, but Allan got me right in and confirmed my diagnosis. The battery was indeed done like dinner. So, a battery was ordered, delivered, and installed in less than half an hour. I spent more time with my dentist just a couple of hours before that!
While I waited, I enjoyed a cup of coffee and chatted with Carla, one of the owners whose daughter just happens to be married to Luc Mullinder. Luc and his wife are expecting a child and Carla was quite excited that this Sunday the family will be having a “reveal” party. At this point in time, Luc has no idea whether he’ll be the father of a boy or a girl. It should be quite a Sunday for him!
Thanks to the crew at Regina Muffler and Brake, my wife will be able to drive herself to work again this morning, and that will free up my afternoon today. Not that it’ll be a relaxing afternoon though. I’ve got a dog to drop off for a haircut and a couple of granddaughters to pick up.
Another fun day in the Lewis household.
