Chanting “Negate the Hate”, many came out in downtown Regina Saturday afternoon to march in support of murdered Winnipeg teenager Tina Fontaine.
Earlier this week in Winnipeg, a jury found Raymond Cormier innocent in the death of the 15 year old indigenous girl whose body was pulled from the Red River in 2014
One of the organizers of Saturday’s event was Nickita Longman. She says the indigenous community remains in shock over the verdict in the Gerald Stanley trial and now the justice system has let them down again.
At one point those involved blocked traffic at the busy Albert Street-Victoria Avenue intersection to try and get their message across.
