Construction remains well ahead of schedule on the Pilot Butte overpass.
Reports indicate the project is expected to be complete in the next few weeks.
Paul Spasoff, with the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, said the overpass involves a “new to” Saskatchewan interchange.
“The design of it features a diverging diamond interchange and this is new to Saskatchewan,” he said.
Spasoff said the diverging diamond was determined to be the best design for the area.
“They allow for the free flow of traffic, they allow for easy left turns,” he said. “And as they look ahead, they were constructed with traffic volumes up to 2040 in mind. So, just looking ahead, and it was determined to be the best design for traffic volumes now and into the future.”
