The leader of the official opposition feels the provincial government’s announcement of PST exemptions didn’t go far as it should.
The government announced Monday morning agriculture, health and life insurance premiums would be PST exempt, retroactive to August 1st, 2017.
Nicole Sarauer feels this could have been prevented had it just been done at the outset.
“If the Sask Party would have listened to people and industry prior to putting forward this last budget, we wouldn’t be here in the first place,” she said.
Despite the move finally being made, Sarauer said this action alone is no where near enough.
“If they were actually listening to Saskatchewan people and business, we would’ve also seen the walk back for house and car insurance, for restaurants, for construction, both of which are taking a huge hit.”
