Voters in the provincial ridings of Kindersley, Melfort and Swift Current voted in byelections on Thursday and in all three, the Saskatchewan Party retained the seat.
Ken Francis easily captured the seat in the Kindersley riding taking 88 percent of the vote. Todd Goudy won in Melfort capturing 79 percent of the vote while Everett Hindley won the contest in Swift Current as he took 73 percent of the vote.
In a release issued shortly after the results were made final, Premier Scott Moe said “Their success tonight shows that people in Saskatchewan want our party to be the one that stands up for them in government.”
The byelections were needed after the resignations of Bill Boyd (Kindersley) and Brad Wall (Swift Current) along with the sudden death of Kevin Phillips in Melfort.
