One of Canada’s biggest sporting events gets underway later today as the Tim Hortons Brier begins at the Brandt Centre.
Event chair, Bernadette McIntyre said the next week is a big one for the city of Regina, as curling fans from across Canada come in.
McIntyre added those who do come, who were here the last time the Brier was in Regina in 2006, will notice a different when it comes to the famed Brier Patch.
“We’re getting to use the new International Trade Centre for the awesome Brier Patch,” she said.
“So it’s a little closer than the Event Plex, but it’ll be just as much fun,” McIntyre continued.
While the actual first draw goes Saturday afternoon, there are things happening at the Brandt Centre today including the wild-card game tonight.
Admission to that is free.
